June 2022 Planting a seed
Kindergarteners learn about planting a seed and what it takes to grow a plant. Soil, sun and water. They each took home a plant at the end.
Kindergarten recycles
Students are responsible to recycle paper. They even have a class job to make sure students are doing a good job. Jan 2022
April 2021 Earth Day
Kindergartners learned about plants and farming. The master gardeners taught them about soil and watering the plants. Students helped to dig, plant and water our garden.

plants and how humans affect their environment
Students learn the difference between a need and want, determine what animals and plants need to survive, and explore how animals (including humans) and plants impact their environment. Students also find out how the choices they make impact the environment around them and create solutions to reduce their impact on the environment.They learn about ways humans change their environment to meet their needs? And they learn about negative impacts of landfills on the environment?
Kindergartners learn about Worms
Students observe and learn about worms and their capabilities. Students have an opportunity to learn about how worms have an impact on our environment. They learn about why worms live where they do? And they learn about what impacts do animals have on their environment in order to get what they need to live and grow?

REad across America Day- The lorax- March 2, 2016
On Read Across America Day, our theme was The Lorax. We learned that it is important for all of us to take care of our environment. The Lorax (Our principal, Jason McCoy) visited every class. Our community partners, The Park Rangers, came in and read to all our students. We read, wrote, and discovered ways we could help the world. Students learned that we need our trees for oxygen, shade and habitats for animals. Students were given up-cycled crayons made from our old crayons.
KindergartnERS AT THE MOBILE PLANETARIUM
Instead of students taking buses to the Planetarium, we brought the Mobile Planetarium to us on December 17, 2015. We want our students to know how important our planet is and how important it is to take care of our planet. Our planet is just one piece of our solar system and we encourage students to think of our global environment as precious now and in our future. We are challenging ourselves to rediscover the Earth’s beauty and the importance of the global environment.

Students planted wildflowers seeds in a small cup soil to take home and plant at home and replant.

100th Day at school: What can you make with 100 pieces of foil, 100 pipe cleaners, 100 cups? Each group had a different material to use in construction.
