2-2020 The Preschool 3's class were identifying, categorizing, and discussing the components of an environment- animals, people, plants, and earth features.

Billy B. comes to CRES to teach about our environment-biodiversity
In the Fall of 2016, Billy B gave 2 shows to our students about biodiversity and how important our earth is. Students participated and listened to his songs to learn about our earth.
Students study environmental issues - pollution and the watershed
In February and March 2016 our fifth graders (77 students) studied issues of pollution and how it affects our local watershed, the Chesapeake Bay. The students did a research unit in their Language Arts that supported the Next Generation Science Standards. They reported on Global Warming and the Gulf Oil Spill of 2010.
Students work in outdoor classrooms
First grade students (71 students) learned about the environment at Robinson Nature Center on 10/20/15. Robinson Nature Center has an outdoor classroom set up.
Students in third grade (67 students) went on a "Haiku Hike" in their community to find inspiration for nature themed haiku poems in March 2015.
Outdoor classroom learning
Third grade students took a field trip to explore Ellicott City and used the walking tour of the city as an outdoor classroom to learn about the history and natural elements of their local community.
