This also ties into the first quarte science curriculum of animals features and functions. Students are currently writing books all about animals and asked questions about their body, life cycle, habitat, food, and fun facts.
WorkING together!

First Graders at the Mobile planetarium
Instead of students taking buses to the Planetarium, we brought the Mobile Planetarium to us on December 17, 2015. We want our students to know how important our planet is and how important it is to take care of our planet. Our planet is just one piece of our solar system and we encourage students to think of our global environment as precious now and in our future. We are challenging ourselves to rediscover the Earth’s beauty and the importance of the global environment.
1st graders visit Robinson Nature Center-Fall 2015
Our first graders visited the Robinson Nature Center and learned about animal adaptations (external features and functions) and habitats. While hiking a nature trail, we discussed how the Robinson Nature Center is Environmentally Friendly with its green roof and water conservation toilets. Our tour guide gave tips to the first graders on how they can conserve water. These included turning off the water while brushing their teeth, only flushing when it is brown, taking shorter showers, and finishing all their water in their glass or bottle instead of wasting it.
