Bike to school day - annual event continues
CRES celebrates and encourages bike to school. When families decide to lace up their sneakers or strap on their bike helmets to get to school instead of riding in a car, they help reduce the amount of air pollutants emitted by automobiles.
Walking field trips
Kindergarten (68 students), 3rd grade (66 students), 4th grade (72 students), 5th grade (77 students) take walking field trips to the Howard County Public Library twice every year. Kindergarten went during the month of October 2015 and January 2016. Third grade went during the month of November 2015 and March 2016. Fourth grade went during the month of December 2015 and February 2016. Fifth grade went during the month of November 2015.
IN SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS
- The whole school (440 students) participated in a visit from the mobile planetarium on 12/14/15 rather than sending every grade to the planetarium.

- Second grade had the Baltimore Zoo come to our school on 11/5/15 to present unique animals.
We bike to school when possible
We have a walk/ride your bike day in the spring.
No IDling zone
Third grade students (14 students) made signs for an area they decided would be a good no idling zone for cars (3/7/16). They decided where to hang their signs and put them up together.
